After a brief illness on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 Albert “Al” McCormack passed away at Bluewater Health at the age of 88.  Beloved husband of Elsa (nee Venturin) McCormack.  Loving father of Greg (Alberta) and their children Katie, Matthew and Connor; Dave (Wendy) and their children Andrew and Joseph; Lynn (Brian) and their children Laura and Natalie; Janice (Chris) and their children Dillon, Madelaine and Shawn; DanJoe (Gina) and their children Ryan and Andrea.  Cherished great grandfather of Callum, Jaxson and Quinn.  Loved brother of Hugh, Bernadette, Ed and John.  Survived by dear sisters-in-law Catherine, Lorraine, Rita, and Patricia.  Predeceased by his parents Albert Bernard and Catherine McCormack, by his siblings Joseph, Mary, Alex, Bill, Ron and Robert, by his sisters and brothers-in-law Wynne, Frank, Kay, Marie, Bernie and Carol.  Al was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia on March 11, 1925.  He enlisted in the Armed Forces in 1939, served his country in the North African, Italian and European Campaigns through to liberation in 1945.  Al was a long time co-owner of McCormack’s Barber Shop and retired in 1992.  Family and friends will be received at SMITH FUNERAL HOME 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Benedict’s Church 1011 Oak Ave., Sarnia, on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 10:30 a.m.  Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Royal Canadian Legion (cheques only at the funeral home please).   Memories and condolences may be sent online at
