Peacefully at her home in Petrolia on Sunday, November 17, 2013. Born in Crowthorne, England on August 7, 1917, ALICE MATHERS (nee Woodage), was in her 97th year. She was the loving wife of the late Wilbert “Bill” Mathers (1994). She was a loved mother to George and Dorothy Mathers of Wyoming, John
and Donna Mathers of Petrolia, Susan and Peter Benson of Cape Coral, Florida, Peter and the late Joanne (2002) Mathers of Watford, and the late Katherine
(1947). She will be missed by her eleven grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She is survived by her sisters Barbara Austen of Crowthorne, England and Kathleen Wenztel of Windsor, Nova Scotia and was predeceased sister Evelyn Gaines and brothers Bert Woodage Sidney Woodage, Ivor Clarke, and Harry Clarke. Visitors will be received on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the NEEDHAM-JAY FUNERAL HOME, Petrolia. A funeral
service will be held at the Christ Anglican Church, 414 Oil St. Petrolia on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Elise Chambers officiating. Interment to follow in Hillsdale Cemetery.
