Peacefully, with her husband of 44 years by her side at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, Mary Netta passed away at the age of 63 after a feisty battle with cancer.  Beloved wife and friend of Ron.  Cherished mother of Craig (Lisa), and Steve (Tesha).  Devoted grandmother to Lance, Emma and Tate.  Dear sister of Sylvia (Bob) Gardner.  Predeceased by her parents Stan and Florence Stonehouse and son Christopher.  Sister-in-law of Ward (Karen) Yorke, John (Carol) Yorke and Patricia (John) Craig.  Sadly missed by “surrogate daughters” Stacey MacKinlay and Kelly Bowman, their families and many other nieces and nephews.   Mary worked at Imperial Oil for thirty years, the last 15 as Terminal Manager at the Sarnia Distribution Terminal.  Mary was always active outside of the home, first with her Sorority and then as the boys were growing up she helped organize Kinder Gym programs of pre-schoolers.  She enjoyed singing and joined the Polysar Glee Club.  The past few years she acted as treasurer for the Bluewater Trails committee.  This past year she took up bowling and had been looking forward to golfing until she became ill.  Family and friends will be received on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.  A funeral service will be held to Celebrate Mary’s life on Friday, February 3, 2012 at Smith Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with family and friends being received from 10:00 until service time.  The interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery.  Sympathy may be expressed through donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice  (cheques only at the funeral home please).  Memories and condolences may be sent online at
