MARSHALL: Muriel Ada “Moe” of Elgin Manor, St. Thomas
Marshall, Muriel Ada “Moe” of Elgin Manor passed away on Wednesday, September 26th, 2012, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in her 85th year. Loved daughter of the late William George and Florence Emily (Davey) Marshall and dear sister of Mary Jane and her husband Jack Green of St. Thomas and Eric and his wife Annie Marshall of London. Predeceased by 2 sisters Vera Babcock and Bessie Sheffield and by 2 brothers Laurence “Lollie” Marshall and Edwin Marshall. Sadly missed by a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews. Muriel was born in St. Thomas on December 1st, 1927. She worked for the Bell Telephone Company and then worked as an activity instructor at the St. Thomas Psychiatric Hospital until retirement. She played baseball, golf and played on the Ontario Championship team in Ten Pin Bowling. Muriel also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was a life member of Trinity Anglican Church and sang in the choir many years. She also was a Charter Member of the Sweet Adelines and was voted “Sweet Adeline of the Year” in 1979.
Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas until Saturday afternoon and then to Trinity Anglican Church where funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Cremation to follow, with interment of ashes in the family plot in Elmdale Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Lung Association.
