Alfred Maenz, of RR#1 Hanover, passed away at Saugeen Valley Nursing Centre, Mount Forest on Wednesday, September 11, 2013.
He was 82.
Born in Silstedt, Germany to Otto and Martha Manz. Alfred was a talented craftsman who enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with his family and building. Alfred designed and built both of his family homes, first in Tottenham and then Hanover. Alfred’s occupation was a commercial painter.
Survived by wife Emmy Maenz of RR#1 Hanover, children David and wife Lynn Maenz of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Steven and wife Wendy Maenz of Thornton, ON, Melinda and husband Ron Groen of Hanover, Jennifer Maenz of Big Bay Point, ON, grandchildren Bryan and wife Beth, Tyler, Ryan, Emma, Nathan, Nova, Mary Jane, Hannah, and great grandchild Jackson. Also survived by brother Ottoma and wife Krysta Manz of Germany.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Celebration for Alfred will take place at the home of Emmy Maenz on Saturday, September 21st between 2pm and 5pm.
Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society were appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to Mighton Funeral Home.
