MacVICAR, William D. “Bill”, of St. Thomas, passed away at Extendicare, Port Stanley on Saturday, December 31, 2016, in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Margaret (nee Thompson) MacVicar. Father of Jim MacVicar (Nancy) of Devon, AB, Steven MacVicar of Bracebridge, Bill MacVicar, Linda Neil, both of St. Thomas, Kevin Baker (Karen) of Peterborough, Mark Baker (Wendy), and Lisa Walker (Wayne), all of St. Thomas. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and sisters-in-law, Julie Thompson of St. Thomas, Vivian Anger of Belmont, and Dorothy Beattie of Aylmer. Born in Chatham, ON, February 27, 1930, he was the son of the late Lorne and Helen (nee Rose) MacVicar. Bill was a retired Clevite Limited, St. Thomas accountant. He was a member of the Evangelical Missionary Church, St. Thomas and a former long-time active member of Alma St. Presbyterian Church. The funeral and committal service will be held at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas(519-631-1160) on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be made privately in Elmdale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends will be received by the family on Wednesday evening, January 4th from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral service. Memorial donations to the charity of one’s choice will be gratefully acknowledged.
