“Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings…”
Bill left us peacefully on his own terms, with his family at his side.He reached out his hand and “touched the face of God”.Blessed by having Bill in their lives is his wife of 32 years, Jeannie, their children Adam (Jenn), Iain (Chantelle), Dayna, Adria, and grandchildren Mason and Mya. Loving son of Frank and Maria Macri; adored big brother of Nancy Schwager (Rob), Anna Hutchins (Frank), and Joe (Sina). Loving son-in-law of Gord and Marion Williams; brother-in-law of Mary (Brad) and Pat (late Tom). Predeceased by Sheilagh. Adored favourite uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Bill left his handprint on the hearts of many. He proudly served as a paramedic since 1981 in multiple roles including management, union, and as Base Hospital BLS co-coordinator. His service was truly exceptional and was acknowledged by receiving the Governor General’s EMS Exemplary Service Medal in 2009. Bill loved all things “that wheeled and soared and swung amongst the clouds“. On any given summer weekend, he could be found showing off his “second wife”- his 1971 Cutlass 442; truly his pride and joy- or gazing at aircraft while attending air shows.Visitation Tuesday, July 9th 7-9 p.m. & Wednesday, July 10th2-5 and 7-9 p.m.
