It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of William Douglas Luff, of Hanover on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the Village Seniors Community, Hanover. He was 93.
Born in Bishop’s Falls, Newfoundland on June 22, 1920 to the late John “Jack” and Daisy (nee Watton) Luff. Doug was employed for many years at Beaver Lumber, Hanover and enjoyed spending time with his friends at Gideon’s International and Victory Fellowship Baptist Church.
Survived by loving wife and best friend Wilda Kay (nee Hutchinson) Luff of Hanover, daughters Dianne Schoening of London and Deborah (Ian) Laing of Holland Landing. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Matthew (Jeanne) Schoening of Michigan, Catherine (John) Kilpatrick of England and by his great grandchildren Melanie, Emily, Cameron, Benjamin and Arran. Fondly remembered by his sisters Norma Ruth (George) Langstone of Arizona, Marie (Art) Tuck of Grand Falls – Windsor Newfloundland, brother Fred (Shirley) Luff of Courtney, British Columbia and sisters in law Ryta Luff of St. Catherines, Fern Hutchinson of Chesley and Joan Hutchinson of London. Predeceased by his first wife Greta (nee Cull) Luff and brothers Roy, Hardy, Jackie and Cliff Luff.
Visitation will be held at Victory Fellowship Baptist Church (33219 Grey Road 28, Hanover), on Saturday, May 24, 2014 from 9am until time of Funeral Service at 10:30am.Pastor Paul Holden officiating.Interment inChesley Cemetery.
