LUDLOW, William Ross (March 5, 1929 – March 15, 2013) – After prolonged suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. Predeceased by his loving wife, Helen, of nearly 60 years. Proud father of Rick (Barbara) of Guelph. Loving grandfather to Katy, Bryn and the late Reed. Dear brother to Eileen, Mitz, Ruth, Ron, Audrey Anne, and the late Judy. Working hard and saving for a rainy day were values instilled in him from being born and raised in the Depression. Bill was a family man, fisherman, truck driver, and gardener – proud to show his flower and vegetable garden to anyone who stopped by the front porch for a visit. His sense of humour and generosity will be remembered always. The family is grateful to the caregiving Bill received over the last 11 months at the Woodstock General Hospital and Riverside Glen in Guelph. Family and friends will be received at the SMITH-LeROY FUNERAL HOME, 69 Wellington Street North, Woodstock on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 10:00 to 11:00 am for a memorial service in the chapel at 11:00 am. If desired, donations in Bill’s memory to the Alzheimer Society of Oxford, the Woodstock Hospital Foundation, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Smith-LeRoy, (519) 537-3611.
