Peacefully at Sumac Lodge on Monday, January 26, 2015 Lorraine Cecilia Logan (nee Mara) passed away at the age of 92.  Beloved wife of the late Bert Logan (2002).  Loving mother of Maureen (John) Street, Jayne (Craig) Little, the late Tom Logan, Anne Marie (Wayne) Parizeau and Laurie (Jim) Harvie.  Dear mother-in-law of Jayne Logan. Cherished Nanny of Alexander (E.J.), Susannah (Patrick), Jennifer (Chris), Thomas, Jeffrey (Shevaun), Angela (Steve), Andrew, Katie (Mike), Tim (Gen), Joseph (Amy), Julia, and Brianne and great-grandmother of 12.  Predeceased by her siblings Brother James Mara, S.J. and Genevieve Drewery.  Lorraine was a faithful parishioner of Sacred Heart Parish in Sarnia, where she was a member of the Catholic Women’s League since 1951. During the 1950s and 1960s, she held various positions in the PTA of St. Michael’s School. As wife of the warden of Lambton County, Lorraine became involved in various community associations, including the Children’s Aid Society and the Women’s Auxiliary of Twilight Haven. She also enjoyed many years as an active member of Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority. Lorraine will be fondly remembered for these activities as well as her devotion and generosity to her children and their families. Bert and Lorraine spent many evenings at home enjoying the beautiful sunsets over Logan’s Pond, and her legacy also includes her gift of the family’s portion of the pond to the City of Sarnia. Her family would like to extend their gratitude to the compassionate staff of Sumac Lodge for their loving care and support. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1465 Lecaron, at 2:00 p.m. with visitation at the church one hour prior to the Mass.  Interment will take place in Blackwell Cemetery with a reception to follow in the Parish Hall.  Sympathy may be expressed through donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice or the Sacred Heart Catholic Women’s League (cheques only at the funeral home please).  Arrangements entrusted to Smith Funeral Home, Sarnia.
