Best friend and loving husband to Debbie and loyal companion to Sammy. Amazing father to Dan (Holly), Jerry (Melissa), Lora (Walter), Chip (Steve). Loved Papa to Jacob, Kassandra, Amber, Nathan, Joshua, Emily. Beloved son of Edward (1985) and Delphine (1998). Dear brother to Barb, Betty (2001), John, Tom (2007), Robert (Bonnie), Eddy (Christine), Joe (Rose), Gary (Linda), Cathy, Cheryl (Melvin), Lori (Roger). Dearest nephew to Shirley Martindale. Dear son-in-law to Mary Stevens. Brother-in-law to Mike Harris (Heidi), Steve Wills (Corrine). He will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Jerry served in the Canadian Armed Forces before starting his career at Central Stamping Ltd. He was a Plant Chair for many years and was elected as 2nd Vice President of CAW Local 195. He held many other elected positions within the CAW and was the National Chair Person of the Political Action Committee. He also sat on several boards in the community including the U.H.C and was instrumental in its founding. He was very active in the community and tirelessly fought for the rights of others. Jerry was an avid hockey fan and loved his Detroit Red Wings. He spent the winters in Florida enjoying many activities especially his Tuesday night Pirates meeting. A special thank you to caretakers Ken Lewenza and Doctor Dave Crosswell and to all the angels of Hospice of Windsor. Your kindness and compassion will always be remembered.
