LIPPOLD, Mrs. Eileen Ethel (nee Katzenmeier), formerly of St. Thomas, passed away peacefully at Dufferin Oaks, Shelburne, ON on Sunday, February 17, 2013 in her 94th year. Loving wife of the late John “Jack” Lippold (1993). Devoted mother of Karen Lippold and her husband Steven Wolinetz of St. John’s, NL, Stephen Lippold of Vancouver, BC, Rodney Lippold and his wife Ute Karlson-Lippold of Burlington, and Pamela Caravaggio and her husband John of Shelburne. Dear sister of Dorothy Rafferty and her husband Jim of Ottawa. Also survived by 8 grandchildren: David and Michael Wolinetz, Celise and Stefan Lippold, Cohen and Kristin Lippold, and Cristina Barbour (nee Caravaggio) and Nicholas Caravaggio, 3 great granddaughters: Maia and Anna Wolinetz, and Stella Barbour, and several nieces and nephews. Born in Toronto, ON, January 30, 1920, she was the daughter of the late William Henry (born Rodney, ON) and Ellen Elizabeth (nee Banks, born Paddington, London, England) Katzenmeier. Eileen was a real estate agent in St. Thomas for many years. She was a member of Grace United Church, St. Thomas and a former active community volunteer with a number of organizations. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Eileen’s life will be held at St. Mark’s United Church, 38 Aldborough Ave., St. Thomas on Saturday, February 23rd at 1:30 p.m. Reception to follow. Relatives and friends will be received by the family from 12:30 p.m. until the service time. If desired, memorial donations to the charity of one’s choice will be appreciated.
