Lindner-webWith heavy hearts we want to announce the passing of Luzia Lindner, of RR3 Hanover, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer at Hanover and District Hospital on Friday, January 17, 2014, in her 77th year.

Luzia was born on July 14, 1937 to the Albert and Berta (nee Kitlaus) Maruschke.  Luzia along with her husband Manfred owned and operated Bentinck Packers.  She was a member of the friendship club in Florida and enjoyed her role as secretary/tresaurer.  Along with being a member of the Lamlash Women’s Institute, she also spent time as the Past President of the Hanover Curling Club and a member of the 4H Club.

Survived by husband Manfred Lindner of RR 3 Hanover, children Steven (Catherine) Lindner of RR 3 Hanover, Diana (Chris) Green of London, Eva (Bob) Aitcheson of Williamsford and Christopher Lindner (friend Miranda McTeer) of RR 3 Chesley, grandchildren Justine, Tony, Rebecca, Cara, Duncan, Matthew, Rachel and Sarina.  Also survived by her sister Elizabeth Goebel, brothers Rudy (Renate) Maruschke and Manfred Maruschke all of Germany.  Predeceased by son Markus Lindner in infancy and her brother Klaus Maruschke.

Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Monday from 7-9 pm.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 10:30 am, at Holy Family Church (352 10th Avenue, Hanover). Father Jason Charron officiating. Interment in Holy Family Cemetery, Hanover.
