After a hard fought battle with COPD, our beloved mom/grams/aunt, Myrna Lewicki (nee Fischer) passed away peacefully Thursday, November 22nd at Cascades Hospice in Chilliwack. She was our rock…..and she kept us together as a family in her final week.

Daughter of Paul and Agnes Fischer. Beloved mom of daughter, Debbie Smith, son Dean Lewicki and daughter-in-law Beth Phillips. Cherished Grams of Kyle Smith, Chelsea and Brianna Lewicki – they will desperately miss their Grams.

It was Myrna’s wishes that there be no service – just a private family celebration. As a family, we honored all of her wishes while she was in hospice care and we will continue to honor her wishes after her passing.

Our family would like to express such immense gratitude to the incredible home care workers at Chartwell Lynnwood – Janice and Carla, and the Palliative Care nurses and doctor at Cascades Hospice in Chilliwack. Specifically – Eloise, Erica and Dr Eydt. We could not have asked for a better end of life journey for our mom/grams.

In lieu of flowers, please donate a Memorial Gift in Myrna’s name to the Chilliwack Hospice Society. www.chilliwackhospice.org. The family asks that you specify your donation be directed specifically to the Cascades Hospice facility in Chilliwack.

Do not stand at my grave and weep;

I am not there. I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow;

I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain;

I am the gentle autumn’s rain.

When you awaken in the morning’s hush,

I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flight.

I am the soft star that shines at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry.

I am not there; I did not die.
