A resident of Cottam, John Levy passed away peacefully at the Leamington District Memorial Hospital with his family by his side on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at the age 91.  He was born in Scotland and was the son of the late James and Isabel (nee Ross) Levy. Beloved husband of 58 years to the late Althea “Peggy” Levy (nee Jones )(1999).  Dear father of Mary Anne and Jim Robinson, Jean and Bob Low, Ross and Sandy Levy , Dave and Kelly Levy.  Proud grandfather to Owen and Deb Robinson, Mark and Michelle Robinson, Paul and Melony Robinson, Rob Low, David and Robin Low, John Low, Barb and Dan Milne, Dan Levy, Perry and Bonnie Hamilton, Jeff and Tracey Hamilton, Nick Levy, Shawn Levy.  Great-grandfather to 11 great-grandchildren. Dear brother-in-law of Barbara Levy.  Pre-deaceased by his sisters Ruby (Ken) Dewhirst, Agnes (Bill) Vollans, Minnie (Earl) Allen; brothers Kenny and Jim Levy. John will also be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews.  John was a retired employee of the Ford Motor Company.  He was a decorated Veteran of the Second World War and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 201- Essex. John was a long time area farmer and member of the Cottam United Church and a good friend and neighbour to many. Visiting at the Reid Funeral Home and Reception Centre, 87 Maidstone Ave. E. Essex (519 776-4233) on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Royal Canadian Legion Service to be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday. A Funeral Service to celebrate John’s life will be held in the Funeral Home on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Kim Gilliland officiating.  Interment to follow at Cottam United Church Cemetery.  Memorial donations to honour John’s life can be made to the Cottam United Church or the Canadian Cancer Society and would be appreciated by the family.  Family and friends are invited to share words of comfort and remembrance at www.reidfuneralhome.ca
