Peacefully in her 94th year, Betty Marie Levan passed away at Marshall Gowland Manor, Sarnia on Friday, June 27, 2014. Predeceased by her husband Peter John (1980), parents Nellie and Jack Claxton and sisters and brothers-in-law, Marion Finn (Gord), Nina Wiles (Jack), Grace Berry (Jack) and Jacqueline Wyville. Loving mother of two sons, Joseph (Cathy) of Corunna and Spencer (Laura) of Maple Ridge, B.C.  Much loved grandmother to six grandchildren: Joe Jr., Derek (Melisa), Sarah (Wayne), Julie (Cory), Mathew (Maria) and Abby (Jeremy). Cherished Great Grandmother known as GiGi to Nick, Nathan , Jake, Claire, Lisa, Jack and Shay. Also survived by brother-in-law Allen Wyville and many nieces and nephews. Betty worked at the Autolite for many years and was a volunteer with the Ladies Auxiliary at Laurel Lea Presbyterian Church. She loved knitting, embroidery, poetry, birds, flowers, but most of all she was dedicated to her family. Betty will be greatly missed by her family and all that knew her. The family wishes to thank the very caring staff of Marshall Gowland Manor Rose Hall for all their care and compassion. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line. A private family funeral will be held at a later date.
