Leroux, Rene (71) left this life surrounded by love in the arms of his wife Carmelle on November 20, 2012 at his home in Chelmsford. In 1941 Rene was born to Laurette and Hector Leroux in Chelmsford. He was a strong warm – hearted giving man, a loving husband, father, Pepere, brother, and friend.
As the owner of Colonial Golf Course Rene made this one of his passions, and pleasures serving and providing entertainment to all his guests, family and friends with his zests for life, cooking, music and singing.
Rene met Carmelle in 1987 and married in 1988. June 2012 they would have celebrated their 25th year of marriage. Rene’s life was filled with a diversity of careers from a travelling furniture sales man to a musician, and developer. His greatest passions were his music, food, family and making others laugh. He will be sadly missed by his wife Carmelle Sauve Leroux, step sons Alain Sauve (Marnie), Todd Sauve (Teena), son Sam Leroux, daughter Vivian Valentim, grandchildren Shawn, Sloan, Kiiana, Niika, Zoey and Peyton, sisters Therese Frappier, Denise Morin, Lorraine Leclair, Helene McGaughey, Yvonne Gingras , and Rachelle Julian.
Rene may be gone in body, but his memories and the impact he brought to each of our lives will reside and be treasured forever. We are thankful for the time we had with him. Rene is at peace and we will all ensure that his memory and his legacy survive and flourish forever. Visitation at Cooperative Funeral Home, 4691 Regional Rd 15, Chelmsford on Friday November 23 from 2-5pm and 7-930pm. The service will follow on Saturday November 24 at St Joseph Church in Chelmsford starting at 11am.
