Web pictureAt Copper Terrace Nursing Home on Wednesday January 23rd, 2013, Walter Glen Lenover passed away at the age of 92 years.  Walter was born in Chatham on September 13th, 1920.  He was the loving son of the late Mabel and James Lenover.   Beloved husband of the late Dorothy (2007).  Wonderful father of Brenda (Joe) Kormendy, Mary Lou (Mike) Dunn, Richard (Claudette) Lenover, and Ann (Brian) Preston.  Treasured Papa of nine grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.  Dear brother of Keith (Leota) and John (Maxine).  Predeceased by brothers Gerald and Charles, and sister Eva Greiner.  Walter was a member of the Canadian Navy 1941-1945 and served on Destroyers Saguenay and Kootenay in the North Atlantic, North Sea, English Channel, D-Day and Bay of Biscay.  Walter managed the cutting and wrapping department at Lenover Brothers Ltd for many years.  He spent many enjoyable hours at the “Pioneer Line Euchre Club” trying to learn the finer points of the game.  A private family service has been held.  Cremation has taken place with interment to be held at a later date.  Arrangements entrusted to the Alexander & Houle Funeral Home, 245 Wellington West, Chatham, 519-352-2710.   Friends planning an expression of remembrance are asked to consider a charity of their choice.  On-line condolences may be left at http://alexanderfuneralhome.ca
