8 x 10 Frame for Emmerson Roy "Bonnie" LennanOn Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at Bluewater Health CEE, Petrolia, we lost our beloved jokester, story-teller, prankster and entertainer, Emmerson Roy “Bonnie” Lennan, age 95, who has been reunited with his favourite dance partner of 63 years, the late Dorothy (2005). Loving father of Cheryl (Barry) Howson of Sarnia, Daryl (Faye) Lennan of Brights Grove and Cindy Douma of Guelph. Cherished grandfather of Paula Lippiatt (Seth), Sean Mellis, Gillian Exley (Stephen), Mike McEwan, David Howson (Dina), Bryan Howson (Lani), Kristin Lennan, Kyle Lennan, Dara Douma (Joel), Bianca Azzoparde (Jamie), Aaron Douma (Janice), and Michaela Douma (Rob). Treasured great grandfather of 17 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Donalda Stothers and Ron “Butch” (Shirley) Lennan. Predeceased by his parents Russell and Martha Lennan and Elva Lennan; his siblings Jean, Bill, Bob, Doris, Madge, Shirley, Stella, Donna, and Ross; and his granddaughter Micheline McEwan. Bonnie was an accountant at Canada Steamship Lines and an avid sportsman. He left the Montreal Royals International League to join the RCAF in 1941. Bonnie coached baseball for many years, winning several gold medals provincially and back-to-back Canadian National gold medals with the Drawbridge Inn Jrs. He was inducted into the Sarnia Lambton Sports Hall of Fame and enjoyed many years of boating at the Bridgeview Marina. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Fiddick’s Nursing Home 2 and to Dr. Butler, for their care and compassion. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, August 24, 2014, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 25, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home. A private interment will take place in Resurrection Cemetery.
