Farewell!! PraLECOUPE, Beatricey for me as I will for you that we meet merrily in Heaven (St. Thomas More).

Gone to her eternal rest on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at St-Joseph Villa at the age of 99 years with her loving family by her side.  Dear daughter of predeceased Hugh Gratton and  Zoé (née Labonté) Gratton.  Beloved wife of Paul Lecoupe, who predeceased her in 1971.  Loving mother of Louise O’Connor (Terry deceased) of Ottawa, Pauline Quesnel (Raymond) of Val Caron, Pierre (deceased in 1989) and Jean-Paul of Marathon.  Mother-in-law of Marilyn MacMillan. Grandmother of Jeffrey O’Connor (Rhonda), Michelle Hume (Carl), Julie Quesnel, Lise Tullis (Cam), Jennifer Higgison and Elizabeth Muzzi.  Cherished great-grandmother of Liam and Connor Hume, Sebastien and Jacob O’Connor, Miranda Lecoupe and Emily Higgison and Anthony Muzzi. Predeceased by her sisters Phyllis Thompson ( Wesley deceased), Viviane Charron (Roger deceased), Simone Gervais (René deceased) and her brothers Joseph Gratton  (Jeanne deceased) and Judge Fernand Gratton (Rose-Marie deceased). Sister-in-law of Aline Lecoupe (Guy deceased) and Patricia Lecoupe (Marcel deceased). She married Linden Burton in 1987 (deceased in1991) of Charlotte, Michigan, where she lived for many years before returning to Sudbury.  Also mourning are her step-children Linda Hennigar (Steve) of Oscada, Michigan, Reverend Dwight Burton deceased (Linda) and their children.  Beatrice was born in Chelmsford where she completed her elementary studies, then took a course in commercial studies and graduated at the Notre Dame College in Aylmer, Que.  Prior to her marriage to Paul Lecoupe in 1944, she worked at Canada Post in Chelmsford, Noranda and Sudbury.  With her husband, they operated Lecoupe IGA store in Sudbury as well as Lecoupe Ice Service.  She also was post-mistress of a Sub-Post office in Sudbury until her retirement in 1975.  She was an active member of Ste-Anne-des-Pins Parish as well as other local organizations and social clubs.  She will be remembered for her passion for playing cards, especially bridge.  Her devotion towards others, her unconditional love and laughter will never be forgotten.  The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury on Friday from 2 -5 and 7-9:30 p.m.  Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 11 a.m. in Ste-Anne-des-Pins Church, Sudbury.  Donations (by cheque only) to the St-Joseph Villa Foundation would be appreciated.
