Peacefully, on Thursday, September 25, 2014, at Fiddick’s Nursing Home in her 91st year, June Margaret Lawton passed away. Born in Montreal, the only child of Albert (1965) and Margaret Beaton (1993). Predeceased by her dear husband, Harold (1980). Sadly missed by her only child, Kathy, and son-in-law Dan Furlotte; her only grandchild, Colleen (Brian) Hay of Courtenay, BC; and her only great-grandchild, Saige, of Courtenay, BC. She began her nursing career at Montreal General Hospital and later was very involved in volunteering with the P.T.A, Home and School Association and the U.C.W. After moving to Sarnia, she volunteered with Pensioners’ Concerned. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Fiddick’s Nursing Home for their care and kindness during her time there. Cremation has taken place. A private family interment of ashes will take place at a later date at Lakeview Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Covenant House Toronto or to the charity of your choice (cheques only at the funeral home please).
