LAPOINTE obituary picture croppedLAPOINTE, Michael Richard Gregory: Passed away suddenly at Victoria Hospital, London, ON, on Monday, July 15, 2013, at the age of 20. Beloved son of Tammy Zonneville of Corunna, ON, and Claude Lapointe of Stornoway, QC. Cherished brother of Matthew and Jessica (Chuck Edgar). Loving grandson of Robert and June Zonneville of Sarnia and Gregoire Lapointe of Lambton, QC. Sadly missed by his four-legged friends Tia, Rielly and Sully. Predeceased by his uncles Robert Wayne Zonneville and Luc Lapointe, and by his grandmother Jeannette St. Pierre. Survived by cousins Brian Watkins, Rachel Zonneville (fiancé Alfonso Garcia), Erika and Rebecca Zonneville, Guy, Justin (Cherleen) Lapointe, Sabrina, Melissa, Steve, Sandra Lapointe, Audrey and Ariane Gosselin. Also survived by Aunts and Uncles: Rick (Cheryl) Zonneville, Lori Zonneville, Elaine, Guy, Marcel, Lise (Claude), Joanne (Claude) Lapointe, and honorary Aunt and Uncle Penny and Gary Leng.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the Critical Care Trauma Centre at Victoria Hospital London for their heroic efforts, the personal support workers from the March of Dimes and Bayshore Home Health for their care and friendship over the years. A special thank you to Carol Harse for going above and beyond the call of duty, many, many times. Time with his gamer friends brought Michael great joy. A special thank you to Bryant Northmore for his friendship.  Michael was a hero and inspiration to all who knew him, and he will be greatly missed.  Cremation has taken place.  Family and friends will be received on Thursday, July 18, 2013, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 19, 2013, at Smith Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Ronald McDonald House London, ON, or Parkwood Hospital Spinal Cord Injury Program London, ON (cheques only at the funeral home please).
