LaPlante (183x250)LaPlant, Theresa of St. Thomas, passed away on Sunday, February 10th, 2013, peacefully, at the L.H.S.C. (Victoria Campus), in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Armand Thomas LaPlante and dearly loved mother of Gail (Tom) Ford of St. Thomas, Carol LaPlante of St. Thomas, Juliette LaPlante of London and Allison Crossett (Darryl) of St. Thomas. Much loved grandmother of Rachel (Dan), Adam (Sarada), Madison and Andrew and great grandmother of Narina, Esben. Sister of David (Vanessa) Vyse, Don (Doreen) Vyse and Phyllis Dindsdale. Predeceased by 4 brothers Frank, Dan, Leonard and Fred Vyse. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Theresa was born in Peterborough on March 12th, 1926, the daughter of the late Herbert and Gertrude Vyse. She was a member of St. Anne’s Church, the Catholic Women’s League and Past President and a member of the Council of Women for St. Anne’s Church. She also was creator and founder of the St. Anne’s Wine and Cheese Night. Theresa served 3 years with Canadian Army Corps. She is credited with certificates being presented by the Ontario Government for charity work.

The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne’s Church. Interment to follow in Holy Angels’ Cemetery. Prayers will recited at the funeral home on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. Remembrances may be made to Kids for Kids (Family and Children’s Services) or the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
