LANTEIGNE, ValierIt is with great sorrow that the family announces his passing in Sudbury on Wednesday, December 31st, 2014 at the age of 89 years. Son of the late Joseph and late Alphonsine (née Noël) Lanteigne. Beloved husband of 60 years to Lucille (née Gosselin) Lanteigne. Loving father of Colette, Gilles (Rita), Claire Tremblay (David) and Monique Laferriere (Wade). Cherished grandfather of Cortney (Jon), Jordan (Tara), Danielle, Mathiew and Adam. Great-grandfather of Gianna and Jack. Predeceased by his siblings; Fabien, Emma, Alexie, Louise, Emerentienne, Edgar, Jeannette and Agnès. Sadly missed by many relatives and friends. He was born and raised in Lamèque, N.B. and established himself in Sudbury the year of 1950. Mr. Lanteigne worked for 36 years, as a miner for Inco at Creighton Mine. He was also a member of the United Steelworkers 6500. Valier was a proud member of the “Carrefour francophone” and the “Club joie de vivre”. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury on Sunday, January 4th, 2015 from 2-5 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 5th, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Paroisse Ste-Anne-des-Pins Church, Sudbury. In lieu of flowers, donations (by cheque only) to the Canadian Blood Services or masses to Ste-Anne-des-Pins Church would be greatly appreciated.
