Born in St. Catharines Ontario, Dec. 17, 1941, Ellis passed away peacefully on Dec. 13, 2013 with fiancé Katie Minor (retired US Navy) by his side. Ellis is survived by his children Lani, Laryssa (David) and Len (Beth) and their mother Margaret Rogers, step-daughter Kim Arsenault (John) and her mother Nancy. Puppi will be missed by his grandchildren Caleigh, Katelyn, Ryleigh and Tyler. Waiting to greet him on the other side are his parents Ina and Wilf Landale, his aunt Betty Sinnett (Ev) and uncle Air Commadore (R) Len Birchall CM, DFC,OBE, OOnt, CD all of St Catharines. He will be dearly missed by family and friends. Captain (R) EB Landale OStj CD served for many years with the Royal Canadian Cadet Corps. He was also active with Ipperwash Cadet Camp, CFB Borden, CBF Petawawa, the Connaught Training Centre, Military Institute of Windsor, International Armed Forces Council, Essex and Kent Scottish, Regional Cadet Instructors School and Saint John Ambulance. He was awarded the Serving Brother of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, the Queen’s Golden jubilee, the Canadian Forces Decoration with two clasps, Saint John Service medal and is a Companion of the Knights Hospitaller of Saint John of Jerusalem. Ellis shared his passion for knowledge through 32 years of teaching history, most at Riverside Secondary School, and by coaching their Reach for the Top team. He was and always will be in our hearts as a truly unique individual with a passion for teaching and helping others.
