Born January 28, 1922 in Rotterdam, Holland. Martha passed away on Monday, July 2nd, 2012. Wife of the late Joseph Laframboise,predeceased on February 17, 1970. Loving mother of Maria “Chichi” Therrien (Mark), Paul (Bonnie), Rachelle Laframboise, Ron (Candy), Suzanne Roberts (Dave) and Monique Crossen (Chris). Cherished grandmother and great-grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents, Peter and Maria (née Wagenaar) Berkel. Predeceased by her brothers, William, Father Fredericus and by her sister Cornelia. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She came to Canada in 1946 as a war bride. She was very proud of her heritage. Her favorite expression was “If you ain’t Dutch, you ain’t much”. One of her proudest goal in life was to reach her 90th birthday and she made it to 90 in a half. She looked forward to many summers at Stanley Park on Manitoulin Island. During her early years at Stanley Park, she was involved in many crafts activities which she donated to many different charities. The family wishes to express a special thank you to all the staff at the Maison Vale Hospice, the staff of the Red Cross and Bay Shore. In keeping with Martha wishes there will be no visitation. After cremation, there will be a memorial mass at a later date. At the family’s request, donations can be made to Maison Vale Hospice in Martha’s memory. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Cooperative Funeral Home, Hanmer.
