Your warmth will never leave us, your love will be our guide. It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and Opa on April 23, 2014 at the age of 85 surrounded by his loving family. Devoted husband of Theresa for 63 years. Cherished father of Diana Carr (Warren) and Sandra Boyle (the late Jim). Much loved Opa of Nolan and Alyssa Carr, Bryson and Dalton Boyle. Dearest son-in-law of the late Mary Kaufman. Predeceased by his mother, father, step-mother, sister and brother. Born in Bonnyapuszta, Hungary on May 16, 1928. He emigrated to Canada in 1950 to Tillsonburg, Ontario before making his home in Windsor. He married the love of his life Theresa on May 12, 1951 at First Lutheran Church. Together they raised two daughters who he devoted his life to. He was a hard worker, excellent provider and a kind, caring, gentle family man. He took great pride in doing everything to the very best of his ability. He loved and adored his four grandchildren more than life itself. He worked in the United States for over 36 years as a high pressure welder in a job that he truly loved until his retirement at 65 years of age. He spent the winters for the last 20 years in his beautiful condominium in Estero, Florida where he made many friends. He was a life long member of the Teutonia Club and First Lutheran Church. Memorial donations to First Lutheran Church would be appreciated. Visitation Friday 3-5 pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Saturday 11:30a.m. at Families First South Windsor, 3260 Dougall Ave. 519-969-5841 with Pastor G. Azevedo officiating. Interment Victoria Memorial Gardens. John will always be remembered for his smile, witty sense of humour, laughter and big heart. He was Theresa’s whole life and her best friend. He was an irreplaceable father and Opa! John is now at peace with his Lord and Saviour. Share memories, photos or make a donation at www.FamiliesFirst.ca
