Koteles webKOTELES, Jim – With great sadness, we announce the passing of Jim, at home on December 25th, 2012. Beloved husband of Vivian for 41 years. Loving father of Deborah (McAteer) Foster (Brian). Dear brother of Joe Olcsvari (Mary). Also survived by in-laws, several nieces, nephews and friends. Jim was inducted into the Niagara Falls Virtual Sports Wall of Fame January 18, 2009 for Judo. In 1965 Jim began teaching Judo at the Welland Judo Club, which he co-owned. He was a Second Degree Black Belt, and entered into a partnership with other Black Belts to purchase the Manson Judo Club in 1967. This club was renamed ‘Niagara Falls Judo Centre Limited’. For over a decade, Jim taught many high profile students and was Sensei to the next generations of highly successful judokas. He was a great leader in the sport of judo and in the City of Niagara Falls. Jim was a service manager at Autoland Chrysler in Niagara Falls for many years, currently employed at Casino Niagara in the security department. Cremation has taken place and a private service will follow. In memory of Jim, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated, and may be made through MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street.
