Passed away at Columbia Forest Nursing Home, following a valiant struggle, on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the age of 90 years. Doris was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert of almost 69 years in September 2011.  She was the loving mother of Susan (George) Malon, Gail (Brian) Harper and doting grandma of Stephanie (Travis) Oldfield and Michael Malon.  Doris was also predeceased by her parents Arthur and Lucinda Meyer and her brother Paul in 2003. Doris selflessly devoted her life to her family and will be remembered for her excellent cooking, baking and ever-present sense of humour.  She enjoyed travelling, reading and numerous get-togethers with her family.  Despite her numerous health problems, mom’s zest for life never wavered.  Doris was a lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church. Friends are invited to share their memories of Doris with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Friday, July 6, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Doris’ life and faith will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 136 Margaret Ave., Kitchener, on Saturday, July 7, at 11:00 a.m with Rev. Robin Korsch officiating.  A reception will follow in the Parish Hall.  Cremation has taken place and interment will follow the reception. Special thanks to the Watson staff of Columbia Forest for the special care and kindness shown to mom. Condolences for the family and donations to Grace Lutheran Church or the Canadian Diabetes Association may be arranged through the funeral home at or 519-745-8445.
