Kent, Eric George – 94, courageous WWII veteran and distinguished scientist passed away peacefully in his home of Plympton-Wyoming Friday, March 28, 2014.  Born and raised in Sarnia, Eric enlisted in Sarnia’s 4th Field Regiment of the 26th Field Battery for the Royal Canadian Artillery where he helped in Holland’s liberation and in the invasion of Normandy.  After returning from the war Eric began a long dignified career as a research and development scientist with Polysar where he invented numerous recognizable polymer products such as Medical Sheet, magic wrap plumbers tape, and over 150 golf ball patents.  He was a loving husband to the late June Kent (Lawrence) and father to Patricia Leivo (Bill) and the late Jeffrey Kent.  He was an inspiring role model and dedicated grandfather to Michael Kent, Davin Leivo, and Hilary Racher (Corey).  Eric was predeceased by his parents, William and Beatrice Kent and his siblings Roy Kent, David Kent and Marie Atwood.  His unforgettable character, generosity, and outlook on life inspired all those who had the pleasure to meet him.  A gathering to honour Eric’s life will be held at the D.J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME, 102 N. Victoria Street, Sarnia, on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 1:00p.m.  Cremation has taken place.  Sympathy may be expressed through donations to The Royal Canadian Legion Zone A4 Veterans And Youth Trust Fund, The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 388 Wyoming Poppy Fund , Junior Achievement of South Western Ontario or charity of your choice.  Memories and messages of condolence may be sent through
