Leona Margaret Kelly, a longtime resident of Erieau passed away on Monday October 15, 2012 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.  Leona was a kind and gentle soul who opened her heart and her home to everyone.  She supported her husband Laverne who passed away in 1996 during his years of service to their community when he served as Reeve of Erieau and Warden of Kent County.  She unconditionally loved her daughters Nancy Smith (Gary) of McKay’s Corners, Kathy Kelly-Stass of Erieau, BJ Taylor of Cedar Springs and Karen Anderson of Cedar Springs just as she did her son Daniel Kelly who predeceased her in 1974.  She will be missed by 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and her dogs Maggie and Daisy-Mae.  Grandma always lit up when one of them came for a visit and had a way of making them each feel special in their own way.  Leona is survived by her sister Jake Warren of Chatham and her brother Tom Sorrell of Wallaceburg.  She is predeceased by her parents Leo & Ethel (Sallows) Sorrell and her brothers Jimmy and Bud Sorrell.  Friends and family are invited to gather at the Blenheim Community Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m. to show their support to Leona’s family.  A Funeral Service conducted by Pastor Tim Joyce of Word of Life Church will be held in the Funeral Home on Thursday at 11:00 am.  Interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim.  Acting as pallbearers will be Leona’s grandsons Pete Marsh, Rob Bellamy, Vern Meredith, Barry Meredith, Dan Meredith and Todd Harris.  Flower bearers will include her granddaughters Kim Dagenais, Kelly Marsh, Brandi Bellamy, Tess Anderson, Emma Anderson and Shelley Marsh.  In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to remember Leona with a memorial donation are asked to consider the Word of Life Soup Kitchen, the Erieau Firefighters Association or the Chatham-Kent O.S.P.C.A.  Online condolences for the family and memorial donations may be left at www.blenheimcommunityfuneralhome.com
