Keefer- “Bill” Wilson of St. Thomas and formerly of Port Stanley, in his 88th year was promoted to glory Sunday May 20, 2012 at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital. Bill leaves behind his adored wife and soul mate Jean Lammiman. Much loved father of Ian (Lorraine) Keefer of Burlington and cherished grandfather of Tracy (Mark) Butler, Mark (Fran) Keefer and Shane (Pam) Keefer. Dearly loved brother of Ida Martin and Aileen (Marve) Peterson, was predeceased by brother Ron Keefer and sister Margurite Shuttuch. Treasured step-father of Diane Clarke, Betty Rewbotham, Ken, Tubby and Dennis Wilson, Diane O’Brien and their spouses. Grandpa, Magic Grandpa and Grandpa Bill will be sadly missed by his grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Bill was a Private serving in the Queens Own Rifle Regiment in WWII. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 410, Port Stanley. Bill loved life, especially with his family, neighbours and friends at the cottage and the beach in Pt. Stanley. Bill’s sense of humour, his positive happy spirit and kindness to help others touched the hearts of many who will miss him dearly.
Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where a Legion Memorial Service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. by Officers and Members of the Port Stanley Legion Br. # 410, immediately followed by a service of Celebration led by Rev. Margie Bell. Interment to follow at South Park Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Donations to the Port Stanley Legion or the Plains Baptist Church
