Ruth Matilda (Schwartz) Kaufman went to be with her Lord on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Elgin Abbey Lodge, Chesley at the age of 82.

Her passion and compassion also embraced her community where she was an enthusiastic curler, playing on both women’s and on mixed teams, where she was an active participant with the Desboro Agricultural Society, and where she was a steadfast member of the congregation of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Beloved wife of the late Stanley Kaufman. Loving mother of Kenneth (Inez) of Desboro, Larry (Christine) of Cambridge and Kathryn Kaufman of Desboro. She was blessed with ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Ruth will be fondly remembered by her sister Gertrude (Arnold) Heft of Owen Sound and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her daughter Patricia Maluske, great-grandson Darien Kaufman, brothers Morrell and Dennis Schwartz, sisters Alvina Troup and Amy Hoover and her parents, Frederick and Emma (Slomke) Schwartz.
