Jones-Ruth Lucille (Jolliffe) of Bobier Villa, Dutton and formerly of Dexter, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, February 10th, 2014, in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late C. Milton Jones and dearly loved mother of Anne King (Larry) of Leamington, Marian Jones of Dexter, Norma Jones-Eaton ( late Leonard) of Embro and Kenneth Jones (Penny) of Dexter. Loved grandmother of Michael (Tammy), Pamela, Matthew, Amanda, Jason, Becky and Jamie (Alexis) and great grandmother of Ashley, Kayla and Jaclyn. Dear sister-in-law of Verna Withenshaw of St. Thomas. She was the last of her family. Predeceased by sisters Helen Fleming, Eva Flanders and Grace Cornish and brothers Ross and Lorne Jolliffe. Ruth was born in Avon on September 27th, 1923, the daughter of the late Harley and Luella (Row) Jolliffe. She trained as a teacher and taught at Zenda and Dexter Schools and then farmed most of her life with her husband. She was a member of Dexter United Church, the U.C.W. , was the organist at the Church a number of years and was a former Sunday School Superintendant.
Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Karl Sievert officiating. Interment to follow in Union Cemetery. Visitation Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Elgin or the Bobier Villa Recreation Fund.
