web_Jones_DaleIt is with broken hearts that we sadly announce the passing of Dale on May 18, 2013 at the age of 68. Loving and devoted husband of Michelle (nee Proulx). Cherished father of Shawna and Nolan of Vancouver and Lindsay Wilbur and husband Ryan of Tecumseh, and very proud grandfather of Gavin. Dear son of the late Robert and Anna Jones. Dale will be sadly missed by his brothers Dennis and Paula, David and Giselle, and John all of Sudbury. Dear son-in-law of Dorothy Proulx. Loving brother-in-law of Anita, Paul and Kim, Mary Ellen and Ken and Elise and Allan. Dale will be dearly missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends, especially Dorothy and the late Skeets Harrison and Jeanne and Marcella Proulx. Dale was an accomplished educator for the Greater Essex County District School Board, and retired as principal of Oakwood School. He had a passion for teaching and was a wonderful mentor to many students. In Dale’s earlier years, he was an I.H.L. referee and took part in many Fun Runs and the Detroit Free Press Marathon. His love of the outdoors took him on many adventurous canoe trips. In retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, cooking and gardening. Dale always gave selflessly to others and embraced life to the fullest. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Hotel Dieu-Grace Hospital for their compassionate care. If you so desire, donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada would be appreciated by the family. Visitation Thursday 3:00-5:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers at 4:30 p.m. at FAMILIES FIRST 1065 LAUZON RD. East Windsor (519-969-5841). On Friday, family and friends are invited to meet at Good Shepherd Parish, 13789 St. Gregory’s Road, Tecumseh after 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
