JEWELL, Mrs. Dorothy (nee Bolton), formerly of St. Thomas and London, passed away peacefully at her residence, Extendicare, Port Stanley on Thursday, August 28, 2014, in her 96th year. Wife of the late Russell G. Jewell (1976). Dearly loved mother of Darlene Finch (Robert), and Sharon Zwijnenburg (Hank), all of St. Thomas. Grandmother of Desirié Woodsworth and John Woodsworth, both of Hamilton, and great grandmother of Brandon and Devon. Also fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was the last surviving member of her own immediate family, having been predeceased by four sisters and four brothers. Born on February 15, 1919 in Lynhurst, Yarmouth Township, ON, she was the daughter of the late William and Louisa (nee Bragg) Bolton. Dorothy was a retired inspector at Hayes-Dana, St. Thomas. She was a member of St. John’s Anglican Church, St. Thomas. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A public memorial service to celebrate Dorothy’s life will be held at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Saturday, September 6th at 1:30 p.m. Relatives and friends will be received by the family one hour prior. Private interment of her cremated remains will be made in Elmdale Memorial Park. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Animal Aide gratefully acknowledged.
