JACKLIN: Emerson of St. Thomas

JACKLIN, Emerson of St. Thomas, passed away on Sunday, May 13th, 2012, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in his 95th year. Beloved husband of 70 years of the late Edna (Carr) Jacklin. Loved father of Deanna Chute and her husband Bill, Sharon Axford and her husband Floyd, Kenneth Jacklin and his wife Judy, William Jacklin and his partner Wendy Harris, Robert Jacklin and his wife Kathy, Sandra Wadley and her husband Paul and. Predeceased by a son Kelvin Douglas Jacklin (1979). Lovingly remembered by 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Predeceased by 6 brothers Alvin, Daniel (Francis), Percy, Clifford, Carl and Norman. Emerson was born in Parry Sound on July 3rd, 1917, the son of the late William John and Annie Jane (VanKoughnett) Jacklin. He was retired from the Elgin Co-Op where he worked for 35 years. Emerson also farmed up until 1961. He was a member Yarmouth Centre United Church. Emerson volunteered at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital for over 13 years.

Resting at WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. Cremation to follow, with private interment of ashes in Elmdale Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Elgin or charity of choice.
