Florence Ideson 001IDESON, Mrs. Florence (nee MacDougall), of St. Thomas, passed away peacefully at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Friday, September 19, 2014, in her 84th year. Beloved wife of the late Robert W. “Bob” Ideson (1999). Dearly loved mother of Bruce Ideson of St. Catharines, Brad Ideson and his wife Cheryl, and Barry Ideson and his wife Mary Kay, all of St. Thomas. Cherished grandmother of Brennan, Stephanie, Karli, Brady, and Shannon. Dear sister of Johnny MacDougall and his wife Evelyn of Nova Scotia. Also fondly remembered by sister-in-law, Marilyn Ruttan of Texas, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Florence was predeceased by five sisters, Mary, Sadie, Irene, Kay, and Viola. Born in Sydney Mines, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia on February 6, 1931, she was the daughter of the late John and Cassie (nee McDougall) MacDougall. Florence was Roman Catholic by faith. She formerly worked as an X-Ray technician at the Stratford General Hospital and the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital. Relatives and friends will be received by the family at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Monday, September 22nd from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where the service will be held on Tuesday, September 23rd at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Elmdale Memorial Park. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of one’s choice gratefully acknowledged.
