It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Maria on December 1, 2014 at 93 years of age. Cherished “Ma” of the late Fulvio DeSantis, the late Silvana Wild, Ciro & Susan DeSantis, Domenica “Dee Dee” DeSantis & David Delville, Julie Wild, Massimo & Sylvine Iafrate, and Brad & Esther Almond (Kelowna, B.C.). Beloved “Nonna” of the late Christopher DeSantis, Darren DeSantis, David DeSantis (Lisa), Noel Wild (Renata), Leon Wild, Lisa Taylor (Larry), Tylene Wild (Brandon), Jessica Sylvestre (Brent), Jeremy Iafrate, Devin Almond (Olivia), and Cody Almond. Adored great-grandmother of Joshua and Tristan DeSantis; Emma and Noah DeSantis; Nina, Serina and Alessia Wild; Larry, Logan and Lance Taylor; Tyler and Silvana Wild; Jayde Wild and Noelle Larose; and Mayelle and Élyse Sylvestre. Loving great-great-grandmother of Alexandria. Predeceased by her dear brother and sister-in-law Lou and Maria Gemmiti. Loving zia of Christina Culos (Rick), Marisa Connelly (Dan), and Gerry Gemmiti (Heather). Maria worked in the hospitality industry for many years and was a member of the Italian Women’s Club “Caboto Auxiliary”. Nothing was more important to Maria than her family. Her strength, courage and sense of humour are only a few of the wonderful qualities that we will forever miss. Words cannot express our gratitude to Noel & Renata Wild and family; because of their generosity, kindness and selflessness, Nonna was able to live her last years surrounded by love and true compassion. If you so desire, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
