Huyton (152x250)Huytan, Orest of St. Thomas, passed away peacefully, on Monday, December 17th, 2012, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Tamara (Waszczenko) Huytan and loved father of Konstantin Huytan and his wife Lesia Maruschak of Ottawa and Paul Huytan of St. Thomas. Much loved grandfather of Arkady and Nadia. Orest was born in Monasterys’ka in Ternopil” Oblast, Ukraine on January 17, 1926, the son of the late Mykhailo and Magdelyna Huytan. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Church, London and served many years on the Council of the Church in many capacities. Orest was retired from Clevite (Gould Manufacturing) where he worked as the Production and Inventory Control Manager. He served with the First Ukrainian National Army during W.W.II. Orest enjoyed all sports, particularly golf and refereed local soccer a for many years.

The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas on Thursday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Holy Trinity Church (151 Edward St.), London on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
