HunterWilfridOld1Hunter;WilfridYoungPassed away peacefully at Windsor Regional Hospital Metropolitan Campus on Friday, January 16, 2015.   Born in Petrolia the son of the late James and Jane Eva (nee Stewart) Hunter, WILFRID “JAKE” HUNTER, was in his 94th year. Jake served his country during World War II with the Royal Canadian Army, and later spent much of the rest of his life in Windsor where he worked for Ford. He is survived by a sister Joyce Harris and a brother-in-law Fred Fitzgerald,and is predeceased by his brothers Stewart, Harley, Kenneth, and Blake, and his sister Louise Fitzgerald. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews, Jeanne Harrington, Joanne Pym, the late James Hunter, Paul Harris, Mark Harris, Paul Fitzgerald, Lynda Richardson, Tamara Ojamae, Carol (Dawson) Peever, and Rev Wm. Martin Dawson. A service remembering Jake’s life will be held at the NEEDHAM-JAY FUNERAL HOME, 4059 Petrolia Line, Petrolia, on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Hillsdale Cemetery. Friends will be received prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. The Royal Canadian Legion will conduct a memorial service at 12:45 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
