It is with great sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Nancy Hubbs, at Northumberland Hills Hospital, on November 18th, 2012, at the age of 79. Nancy was born to Helen and Cameron McKenzie in Beaverton Ontario, where she and her sister Mary Jane enjoyed a childhood filled with love, dogs and mischief. Originally named ‘Anne’ by her parents, she was renamed Nancy by her beloved nanny Marion who was like a second mother to her. Nancy attended Havergal College in Toronto as a child and later in life took great pride in having been the Head of the Old Girls Association. Nancy loved helping people and enjoyed volunteering over the years for the Heart and Stroke Association, her church and community care. She placed great value on her family and friends, always putting them before herself. She was a wonderful wife to Alan, her husband of 51 years, and a beloved mother to Cameron and Anne. She also took great joy from her three grandchildren Aidan, Jamie and Julie. Greatly loved by all those who met her for her kindness, warmth, and quiet sense of humor, she will always be in our hearts and minds. We will never forget you.  The family will receive friends at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home (30 King St. E., Cobourg, Ontario) on Wednesday November 21, 2012, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held in Trinity United Church (284 Division St., Cobourg, Ontario), on Thursday November 22, 2012 at 2pm. Interment will take place on Friday November 23, 2012, at 1 pm, at Old Stone Church Cemetery in Beaverton, Ontario. Donations in memory of Nancy may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
