Hines - photo copyWe are greatly saddened by the sudden passing of Bernice Hines on June 28, 2013 at Bluewater Health. Beloved wife of 60 years to Ron Hines, dear mother of Gord, Ken, and Gerry, daughters-in-law Jennifer, Janet and Joanne, and cherished grandmother to Christine, Kaitlyn, Sheldon, Dave, Cody, and Meghan.
Bernice lived a full, varied and satisfying life. Starting her life on a farm in Bruce County, she ventured out to University in Toronto to become a physiotherapist. Upon graduation, she moved to Sarnia where she met and married her love Ron and pursued an active and successful multi-staged career. She was a full time mother, physiotherapist, executive assistant and finished her career by developing a successful RESP consulting practice which she ran for more than 25 years, finally retiring only recently!
Bernice always put the needs of others before her own and was dedicated to her family, who she was always able to gather with the smell of her homemade apple pie. She guided her sons with her sage advice and ‘suggestions’ and eagerly welcomed her daughters-in-law into the family – quite delighted to have female influence join the family. Her grandchildren and ‘adopted’ grandchild eagerly looked forward to spending time with her each summer at ‘granny-camp’.
She was always a determined and optimistic Lady, who put education first and above all else. She proudly helped to guide her sons and grandchildren to success in their educational endeavours.
Bernice was loved and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
