Peacefully, surrounded by loving family and friends, on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Norma Hillis passed away at the age of 81. Beloved wife of the late Gordon Hillis (1985). Loving  mother of Tom Hillis, Lynne (Jean Jacques) Peuker (Arbaz, Switzerland) and Leslie Hillis (Kevin Kuindersma). Cherished grandmother of Michael, Marc, and Philippe Peuker, Natalie, Laura, and Tommy Hillis, and Samantha, Danielle, Rachel and Nicole Kuindersma. Treasured sister of Marg Laronde, Muggs (Donna) Foster, Joan Chappell, Charlie Foster, Bob Foster and Carol (John) Rouillard. Special friend of Beba O’Mahony, Ray Burger, J. Jamie and Rosaleen O’Mahony-Burger. Predeceased by her brothers Jackie (1954) and Francis Foster (2013), her husband Gord (1985), her parents John (1985) and Rita Foster (1970), her brother-in-law Andy Laronde, sister-in-law Stephanie Foster, and brother-in-law Dave Chappell. Norma was a member of the White Cane Program and the Strangway Centre Bridge Club. She was also a longtime resident of Point Edward (52 years). At Norma’s request, her body has been donated for medical research. A celebration of Norma’s life will take place at the Quality Inn, 751 Christina Street North, Point Edward, on Sunday, December 21, 2014, beginning at 3:00 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
