Herstad, Mildred blkvigIn loving memory of a “Force to be reckoned with”, Mildred Herstad (nee Bell), who passed away peacefully in her 103rd year, September 1, 2014 at Eventide Nursing Home, Niagara Falls.  A long-time resident of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario.  Born June 30th, 1912 in Virginia, Minnesota.  Raised in Edson, and Edmonton, Alberta.  Survived by her granddaughters, Cynthia Moore (David), Valerie Hall, Julianne Herstad, her grandson, Thomas Herstad (Jules), her great-grandsons, Dan and Tom Hall, Dylan and Gavin Moore, Reigan Herstad, and her niece, Elaine Weiss.  Predeceased by her brothers, Nick, Mickey, and Paul Bell, her sister Ruth, her father William Stephen Bell and her mother Rose Zorich, both from Boskrupa, Serbia, as well as her husband Thomas Arvid Herstad and her beloved son Gerald Herstad.  Special acknowledgement and deep gratitude to the amazing staff of the Eventide Salvation Army Nursing Home, for their exceptional care and friendship through the years.  Thank you.  Cremation has taken place.  A private committal will be held at a later date.  As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
