It is with great sorrow that the family of Joy Hedley announces the sudden passing of our dear wife, mother and grandmother at Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital, Petrolia, on Tuesday, November 19, 2013. It is a blessing that she is no longer suffering. Joy spent several years as co-owner with Leon Mater and operator of a ceramic business in Petrolia. She enjoyed an active social life attending community dances and spent many summers at the Warwick Conservation Campground with her husband and family. Survived by her beloved husband David (predeceased by her husband Kenneth G. Davis, 1997); devoted daughter Terry and husband Tom Budnick; cherished grandchildren Nathan (Annik), Clayton, Adam, and Julie; and great-grandchildren Jade, Brandon, Aidan, Ethan, Zoe, Caleb, and Wynter. Also survived by her step-son Jeff Hedley (Nancy), dear friend Pierett, and by her nieces Marie, Sandra and Diane. Predeceased by her parents Fredrick (1968) and Bette Hayward (1999) and brother Joseph Hayward. As per Joy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family interment at Lakeview Cemetery will take place. Joy enjoyed cooking and preparing meals for her family, therefore, any donations in her memory to the Inn of the Good Shepherd would be greatly appreciated (cheques only at the funeral home please). Arrangements entrusted to SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia. Memories and condolences may be sent online at
