Surrounded by the love of his family, Kenneth William Head passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, after a short and brave battle with cancer at the age of 85 years. Ken is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Patricia (Strong) Head and his two children, Tad Head (Kathy Gleeson) and Kelly Waters (Lloyd), all of Sarnia. He was predeceased by his daughter Kim Genovy (2004) and her husband Tony (2012). He was the proud grandfather of Andrew Genovy (Ashley Keith), Michael Grandmaison, Cameron Waters (Gena Hewitt) and Justine Waters, and the proud great-grandfather of Memphis Lachance-Grandmaison and Mackenzie Genovy, who would always brighten his day. He will also be fondly remembered by Tony’s children, Melissa Genovy and Michael Genovy, and their families. Ken was predeceased by his parents Arthur Head (1972) and Nellie (Marshall) Head (1964) and leaves behind one sister, Sheila Wardell (Frank) and her family, all of Middlesbrough, England. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Janice Marks (late Jack) and her family, all of Wingham, Ontario. Ken immigrated to Canada in 1951 and was self-employed in the electronics field his whole life. He was an avid sailor and sailed whenever he got the chance. Ken will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received on Friday, November 28, 2014, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at Smith Funeral Home. Ken was a true animal lover and sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Sarnia & District Humane Society, or if you wish, to St. Joseph’s Hospice (cheques only at the funeral home please).
