HarndenHPassed away peacefully on February 13th, 2015 in his 90th year with family by his side. Harold is predeceased by his loving wife Joan (nee Routley). Loving father of Jean Harnden (Allan Millard) of Washago, Jim of Vancouver, Ruth Nodwell (Dave) of Etobicoke and Vali Mensen of Cobourg. Adored grandfather of Steve (Julie), Christie (Jamie), Scott (Charlene), Jonathan (Melissa), Amy, Michael (Andrea), Lindsay (Matt), Laura (Marc) and 10 great grandchildren. Brother to Hazel Baker (the late Les) and Orletta Kernaghan (Doug) and sister-in-law Betty Beamish. The son of Walter and Ida Harnden, Harold was born and raised in Colborne and was a lifelong resident. In his early years he delivered milk for Spencer’s Dairy to the residents of Colborne and surrounding areas. Many will remember him as their school bus driver during the 17 years he transported students to ENSS in Brighton. He and his wife Joan embarked on a new adventure in 1970 when they purchased the local jewellery store, which they operated for 22 years. Harold was a steadfast member of Colborne United Church all of his life. He will be sadly missed by everyone whose lives he touched. Friends are invited to call at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 11 King St., W., Colborne on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held in his beloved Colborne United Church on Friday February 20th at 1 pm. Interment in Salem Cemetery in the spring.
