Harmer- Bessie “Irene” (Appleyard) (Annett) of Bobier Villa, Dutton passed away on Thursday September 20, 2012 at her late residence in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of the late William Harmer and loving mother of Pat ( Harry) Auckland of West Lorne, Steven ( Marilee) Annett of Magnetawan and dear step-mother of Karen (Rob) Atkinson of St. Thomas. Loved grandmother of Lynn, Bob (Helen), Charles (Jackie), Amy (Jason), Dan and Wesley, and was predeceased by granddaughter April. Great grandmother of Braden, Taylor, Emma, Melissa, Kalan and Janay. Dear sister-in-law of Shirley Heck and was predeceased by her brother Joseph “Donald” Appleyard. Also survived by several cousins. Irene was also the longtime friend of Mary Hagerty of Lawrence Station. Irene was born June 9, 1931 in St. Thomas the daughter of the late Charlotte Annie (Payler) and Martin Appleyard. She worked at Metcalfe Shoes and at Timken.
Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St Thomas where funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00a.m. Interment to follow in Elmdale Cemetery. Visitation Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Donations may be made to Bobier Villa (Recreation Fund) or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
