On Thursday August 16th Marlene Elizabeth Hammond passed away. She is survived by her husband Ron, siblings Bev Williamson (Alva), Larry MacDonald (Bonnie), Barb Adrian, Bob MacDonald (Shanna), Paul MacDonald (Lyn), Pauline Popen (Ivan), Shirley MacDonald, Lois Gadsby (Lloyd), along with many nieces, nephews, and great-nephews and nieces that loved her dearly. She was predeceased by her parents Wilbur MacDonald and Evelyn Lambert and step-father Fred as well as a sister Phyllis Lester.

Marlene will be greatly missed by her many family members and her spiritual family members as well. Her humble acts of kindness will be missed by all who were touched by them. She loved to crochet and knit and her gifts showed the care for others that Marlene possessed. Marlene loved all of Jehovah’s creations, she loved animals and her dog Shadow will miss their walks in the gardens at Germain Park. Marlene also loved to share her hope for the future with all that would listen as she engaged in her Christian Ministry. She firmly believed the words of Revelation 21:4 where it says: “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to “The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of Canada.”

Cremation has occurred and interment will follow at a later date. A memorial service is to be held on Saturday August 25th at 2:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 550 Murphy Rd. Sarnia Ontario. Arrangements have been entrusted to SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
